Nora Hardaway

Nora Hardaway, of Gonzales, Texas, passed away on Sept. 24, 2011, at the age of 65. She was born on May 24, 1946, in Prairie Lea, Texas, to Frank and Lizzie Mae (Shaw) Green.

Nora was a caring mother and grandmother. She devoted her time to her family. She also loved to dance with her grandchildren and play bingo.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bobby Jo

e Hardaway; four bothers, Milton, Elmo, Johnny and R.C. Green; and three sisters, Willie Lea Warren, Lizzie Mae Tealer and Ella Warren.

She is survived by her son, Shelly Hardaway and wife, Deborah, of Gonzales; one brother, Frank Green, of Prairie Lea; three sisters, Bessie McVea and husband, Ellis, of Prairie Lea, Dorothy Miles, of Prairie Lea, and Mable Hardaway and husband, E.J., of Gonzales; and three grandchildren, Joe Hastings, Shelli and Nicholas Hardaway.

Family will receive friends at McCurdy Funeral Home, at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at the Prairie Lea Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Kelly Cemetery in Prairie Lea.
