Nostalgic grand opening Aug. 26

Nostalgic is a new Lockhart specialty store located at 213 W Market St. featuring Nostalgic Rags, a clothing and accessory brand started back in 2016 by Kati and Jeff Hammett due to the passion they both shared for things that are old.

Nostalgic Rags features iconic, legendary, branded tees, hats, patches and stickers of live music venues such as Continental Club, C-Boy’s, Broken Spoke, Little Longhorn, Mean Eyed Cat, Poodie’s, and other legendary brands and bands such as Top Notch Burgers, Lucky Lounge, Dale Watson, and Junior Brown.

In addition, it offers custom Nostalgic Rags products that have proven successful such as Local Gringo, Local Chica, God Bless Texas, TEXXAN, Tejas, and are adding local brands to the mix such as The Original Black’s Barbecue, Bevies, Don’t Austin My Lockhart, Load Off Fannies, El Leon Cigar Co., and will be adding more in the coming year.

Nostalgic Rags is sold regionally in better gift shops and boutiques such as Wild About Music, Austin Rocks, Atown Gifts, Luxe Apothetique, Prima Dora, Austin Gift Co., Tyler’s, Tyler’s Airport Gift Shop, Magic Mirror, Atrium Gift Shop, Starrs On Mercer, and Benjamin’s, to name a few.  

Nostalgic is also building its in-store inventory towards the holidays and will feature gifts such as Santa Fe incense burners, Red Rabbit custom silver and turquoise jewelry, SockSmith “fun” socks, candles from Illuminidol, and many more gifts that are Texas, Lockhart and Austin centric.

The business also plans on offering confectionary candy and ice-cold drinks as well.

Nostalgic also offers custom options for our local and regional clientele that need high quality, tees, hats, patches, and stickers for their own brand. With more than 40 years of experience in retail, wholesale, building brands, design, brand vision, there is no job too big or too little that it can’t handle. There are more than 1,500 blank hats and tees on-hand and it can build custom tees, hats, patches, stickers, etc. that will fit your branding and marketing needs.

Nostalgic will have “Featured Artists” ongoing in our new gallery.

Its Grand Opening will be Saturday, Aug. 26 will feature an old friend and artist Art By Hamilton. “Hami” has been making wood cut-outs for many years. Art By Hamilton will be hanging on the walls of our new gallery space that is currently being finished out and will be ready for the Grand Opening celebration.

In addition, Hami’s band the Go-Go Gorilla’s will be playing surf music across the street in Eddie’s wood shop from 9-10 p.m. on Aug. 26 with the after party being DJ’d by Lockhart’s own DJ Island Time.

The Grand Opening will last from 11 a.m. to midnight.

There will be a Ribbon Cutting at 1 p.m. The Featured Artist Showcase in the Gallery will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Go Gorillas will be from 9-10 p.m., followed by DJ Island Time from 10 p.m. to midnight.

Nostalgic is asking that if you have an old car, old motorcycle, cool scooter or bicycle that you bring it to the Grand Opening. The business will be serving beer and wine throughout the day. Dogs are welcome and visitors are encouraged to ask about locals discounts.
