Olga Ruiz Torres


Our beloved Olga Ruiz Torres, of Lockhart, Texas, born Nov. 2, **, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 10, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Cruz Ruiz; her husband, Jose H. Torres; brother, Lorenzo Ruiz; sister, Alice Perales; son, Pete R. Torres; and grandchildren, Sabrina Denea Torr

es and Richard Anthony Mendez.

Olga was a dedicated wife, loving mother and an exceptional grandmother.

She was always a hard worker, over her life span she worked at Motorola, she became a Certified Nurse Aide at Golden Age Nursing Home, and worked at Kreuz Market.

During her retirement years she enjoyed spending her time cooking, gardening, and loving her family unconditionally.

She is survived by her son Joe (Kathy) Torres, of Houston; daughter, Janie Torres Plane, of Lockhart; daughter, Mary (Kevin) Cain, of Buda; son, Frank (Maria), of Kyle; son, Hector (Rosie), of Lockhart; son, Larry (RoseAnn), of Lockhart; and her baby, Phillip Ruiz Torres, of Lockhart. 

She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and brothers, Father Albert Ruiz, of Waco, Richard Ruiz, of Corpus Christi and Randy Ruiz of Lockhart.

Visitation will be at DeLeon Funeral Home at 6 p.m. on Wednesday July 13. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at DeLeon Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas.  The Mass of Celebration will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 14 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lockhart. Burial to follow at the Torres Family Cemetery in Lockhart, Texas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Frank Torres, Hector Torres, Larry Torres, Phillip Torres, Kevin Cain and Lee Cain. Honorary pallbearers are Joe S. Torres and Jonah Anthony Hernandez

The Family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Charles Laurence, Dr. Rebeka King and staff, Dr. Abram Trevino and staff and the wonderful employees of Heart to Heart Hospice from San Marcos, Texas.
