Patricia Blundell
Patricia Maxine (Vandike) Blundell, 86, passed away Dec. 28, 2015, in Brenham, Texas.
Pat was born in Enid, Okla., in 1929, to Fred and Fern (Clear) Vandike and made her way to San Antonio, Texas, in a Model T at age 13. By graduation she was Miss Congeniality. She took her beauty (inside and out) and represented Fomby’s on their float in the Fiesta Flambeau Parade. That f
loat was driven by Richard Blundell. By 1951 they married and soon moved to Lockhart, Texas.
In their 30 years here, Pat raised her family, became a champion bowler and expert bridge player. After moving to Austin in 1980, she was still active in bridge and especially enjoyed her new role of Grandma to five beautiful grandkids.
When Dick passed in 2006, Pat moved to Brenham, Texas, still making a splash in the bridge scene. Pat will always be remembered for her humor and faithfulness to family and friends.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Deborah Cole and husband, Craig; son, Richard Blundell and wife, Tonya; grandchildren: Melissa Cole Majewski and husband, Gary, Jesse Cole and wife, Meridith, Blake Blundell, Trenton Blundell and Logan Blundell; and great-grandchildren: Kylee Majewski, Daulton Majewski and JennyJean Cole.
