Patricia Nell Leonard

Patricia Nell Leonard, 83, longtime resident of Lockhart, passed away on August 22, 2025.

Born in Mobeetie, Texas to George and Velma Hunsucker on January 2, 1942, Patricia was the fifth of seven children. She attended school in Tucumcari, New Mexico and later married Robert Leonard in 1971. Patricia and Robert eventually settled in Lockhart, where they would raise 3 children and live out the remainder of their days. Robert preceded Patricia in death on July 23, 1987.

Patricia loved family above all else. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and made many wonderful memories with them throughout the years. She was especially close with her two younger sisters, Sherry and Kay. When Kay moved to Lockhart in 1987, Patricia and Kay became best friends and partners in life – you never saw one without the other. They ran a massage therapy business together for 20+ years (“The Stress Clinic”) and shared a home together for over three decades.

Patricia is survived by her two sons, Anthony Leonard and Lewis Leonard, her two sisters, Kay Brandl, and Sherry Ballenger, 5 grandchildren, nephews, and niece. In accordance with Patricia’s wishes, her ashes will be interred at Lockhart Cemetery with her husband Robert and daughter Tonnette, and there will be no memorial service. McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart was entrusted with the arrangements.
