Patsy Davis, 66, died April 25, 2010, at her home near Smiley. She was born in Bay City, Texas on June 16, 1943, and was a member of the Faith Temple Church in Nixon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Perrie Fondon and Lonnie (Rutherford) Fondon; a brother, Claude Perrie Fondon, Jr.; and a sister, Billie Jo Gillette.

She is survived by her hu

sband since July 10, 1959, Leon Davis; three daughters: Linda Davis Garcia and husband, Stephen, Andrea Davis Hecox and husband, Joey, and Geneba Macias; two sons: Marshall Davis and wife, Donna, and Howard Davis and wife, Amber; a sister, Gayle Polachek; 15 grandsons; eight granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Viewing and visitation was scheduled on Wednesday, April 28, from 3 – 8 p.m. at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at Faith Temple Church with the Rev. Michael Cowey officiating. Interment will follow in the Bundick Cemetery near Smiley.

Jesus “Jesse” S. Moreno
Jesse S. Moreno, 77, passed away Saturday, April 10, after a long journey with congestive heart failure.

Jesse was born and raised in Lockhart, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Carmen Tamayo. They married, moved to Austin, and raised six wonderful children.

Besides his wife and angel of 53 years, Jesse is survived by his children: Christine Beardslee (Jim), Rita Cisneros, Deborah Moreno, Joel Moreno (Lola), Helen Bessner (Bruce) and Linda Price (Brent); son-in-law, Roger Cisneros; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Herbert Moreno, Jose Moreno, Julio Moreno, Lidia Moreno and Olivia Balandran.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Luz Moreno; siblings, Tomas Moreno Jr., Daniel Moreno, Carlos Moreno and Gloria Moreno; and granddaughter, Stephanie Bessner.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 14 from 6 – 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd.

Mass of Christian burial took place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, at St. Louis Catholic
Church in Austin, with Msgr. Louis Wozniak officiating. Interment follow at Assumption Cemetery.
