Peggy Joyce James
Peggy Joyce James, 74, passed away at her residence in Georgetown on Jan. 10, 2009 with her family at her side. Peggy was born on Aug. 25, 1934 to Edgar and Mary Evelyn Ellington Johnson in Lake, Miss. Peggy graduated from Good Hope High School and was a registered nurse before her retirement.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, David Jesse James on Sept. 14, 1998.
She is survived by her children: Barbara Joyce Melton, of Camden Tenn., Billy Michael James, of Lockhart, Texas, David Jeffrey James, of Houston, Texas, Peggy J. James, Jr., of Georgetown, and Mary Elizabeth Knudson, of Georgetown; grandchildren: Shawn Harden of Camden, Tenn.,Billy Michael James, of Lockhart, Peter Anthony James, of Georgetown, Andrea Louise Wesserly, of Lockhart, Allison Melton, of Camden Tenn., David Jesse James, of Lockhart, Cody Alan James, of Lockhart, Nasya Rene’ Owens, of Georgetown, and Benjamin Elijah Knudson, of Georgetown; brother, James Edgar Johnson, of Lake, Miss.; sisters: Sarah Posey, of Ruston, La., Sybil Wallman, of Lake, Miss., and Mona Parker, of Lake, Miss.
Visitation was held at the Eeds Funeral Home from 8 – 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at the Eeds Funeral Home Chapel, with friends and family in attendance. Funeral services were held at the Eeds Funeral Home on Jan. 13, 2009, with the Reverend Kenneth Hickman of the First Baptist Church of Weir, Texas, officiating. Interment followed at the Lockhart City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Michael James, Peter James, Cody James, Jesse James, Chris James, Clarence McKinney and honorary pallbearer, Ruben Caudillo.
