ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed proposals addressed to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Lockhart, Texas  will be received at the Lockhart City Hall, 308 West San Antonio, Lockhart, Texas 78644, until  11:00 A.M.  August 14, 2012, for construction of the 2011 CDBG Sewer System Improvements Project, at which time and place will be publicly opened and read aloud.  Any bid received after closing time will be returned unopened.

 

Principal items of construction are approximately 3,600 L.F. of 6″, 8″ and 12″ PVC sewer main, and replacement of approximately 38 service connections and all necessary appurtenances.

 

Bidders shall submit with their bids a Cashier”s Check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the maximum total bid, payable to the City of Lockhart, Texas without recourse, or a Proposal Bond in the same amount from a reliable Surety Company as a guarantee that Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds on the forms provided, within ten (10) days after the award of Contract.  Bids without check or Proposal Bond will not be considered.

 

The successful Bidder must furnish Performance and Payments Bonds each in the amount of 100% of the contract price from an approved Surety Company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as Surety and acceptable according to the latest list of companies holding certificates of authority from the Secretary of Treasury of the United States, or other Surety or Sureties acceptable to the Owner.

 

Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing wage rate, as issued by the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (TxCDBG Procedures for Labor Standards Compliance) and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex age or national origin.

 

All contractors / subcontractors which are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.

 

Proposal forms, plans, and specifications may be obtained from TRC Engineers, Inc., 505 East Huntland Drive, Suite 250, Austin, Texas 78752, 512-454-8716, upon receipt of payment of Number ($50.00) Dollars.  Please make checks or money-orders, payable to TRC Engineers, Inc.  PAYMENT IS NON-REFUNDABLE.

 

The City Council of the City of Lockhart reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities.  No bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the date on which bids are received.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOCKHART, TEXAS, DECLARING THE UNOPPOSED CANDIDATE FOR THE OFFICE OF CITY COUNCILMEMBER SINGLE-MEMBER DISTRICT THREE (3) AS ELECTED; PROVIDING THAT THE SEPTEMBER 8, 2012 SPECIAL ELECTION FOR SAID OFFICE IS CANCELED; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE

REPLACEMENT PROJECT FOR LOCKHART

INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

 

Lockhart ISD will accept proposals from Contractors until 10:30 A.M. August 16, 2012 at the District”s Administrative Offices located at 105 South Colorado, Lockhart, TX 78644. Please submit the proposals to Tanya Homann”s attention. Work includes a partial electrical feeder replacement at the Lockhart High School.

 

Proposal information and bid documents, including drawings and specifications are available from the Engineer upon receipt of a refundable deposit of $50.00 to:
