QUILTY PLEASURES: Chisholm Trail events begin to blanket area

The Chisholm Trail Roundup officially kicked off Thursday, June 7. But before the first ferris wheel ride was enjoyed or the first calf was roped, judges began awarding ribbons for the quilting and baking competitions. The quilting competitions drew people of all ages, including a nine-year-old winner who event organizers said had never sewed before a couple of weeks ago.
