Richard E. Dupert

Richard E. Dupert, 89, of Lockhart, passed away Aug. 15, 2009, at the Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos. Richard was born on Sept. 1, 1919, to Harry and Eva (Schaffer) Dupert in Lewistown, Pa.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Edith Mae, who he married in May 1943 in Luling. He is also preceded by eight brothers and sisters.

>Those who survive Richard are his daughter, Sheila Bartling and husband, Carl, of San Marcos; son, Richard “Ricky” Dupert and wife, Dora, of Lockhart; three grandsons: Damon Dupert and wife, Vereene, Curt Dupert and Chad Bartling and wife, Darsey; three great-grandchildren; Lilly Dupert, Luke Bartling and Hazel Mae Dupert; and sister, Almeda “Medie”Grassmeyer and husband Paul, of Pennsylvania.

The family received friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at McCurdy Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at 2 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home, with interment following at the Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3710 Cedar, Suite 275, Austin Texas 78705.
