Ronald Joe Baker
Ronald Joe Baker was born to Vernon and Corene Baker on July 26, 1932, in Prairie Lea, Texas.
He and his sister, Barbara Ann, were like peas and carrots. When the bigger boys tried to mess with her little brother, she”d put up her dukes and chase them away.
He met his future wife, Norma Masur, for the first time at the Fentress skating rink. He said to himse
lf that night “I”m going to marry that girl” and on Oct. 19, 1954, they were married in Maine. Six years later, their daughter, Lisa, was born in the old Lockhart Hospital.
Many people knew him and some were fortunate enough to share a beer and a story with him at the old Parkway Inn. He was an amazing man. He was a man with a great sense of humor. He was a man with many interests and many talents. He loved to fly, he loved to play the guitar and sing, he loved to talk politics, and he loved to make people laugh.
Daddy taught me so much; the love and appreciation of the Universe, and of nature, and of love. In his last Christmas card to me he wrote, “No father could love his daughter more than I love mine.” I love you Daddy. We all love you and miss you more than you could ever have imagined.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Norma; his daughter, Lisa; and his sister, Barbara.
