Rose-Alva Recio Tamayo, 42, of Lockhart passed away on Feb. 26, 2016. She was born on Oct. 26, 1973 in Austin, Texas.

Rose was an amazing artist and crafter, put her perfectionist nature never allowed her to believe fully in her talents. There was no subject she could not address, discuss and make herself an expert in. Best of all, was her faith in her Lord. Rose had a endle

ss capacity for love and friendship. Her interests were immensely diverse.

Rose graduated for LHS with honors and attended UT Austin. Her passion was her babies (nieces and nephews). She loved children and enjoyed directing their interests. No matter what she tried, she excelled at it. Rose was the most amazing person and will be greatly missed by many. She loved unconditionally and thought of others before herself. Rose was a one-in-a-million.

She was preceded by her Papa, Rogelio Recio, Sr., and grandmother, Susie Recio; uncles: Roland and Rogelio Recio, Jr.; aunts: Raquel Reyna, Ruth Campos, Rosalba Recio, Susie Recio and Susie Henderson; and cousins: Jose Raul Trelles, Domenick Torres, Jr., Ulysses Recio, Jesikha Recio and Carl Salinas.

She is survived by her parents, Nancy and Leonard Tamayo, of Lockhart; brothers: Jago (Mari), of Austin, and Barak (Savannah), of Cibilo; half-sister Alex Carrisalez; nephews: Kori Raen, Gabriel Aiden and Baxton Asher Tamayo and Draven Carrisalez; nieces: Rhylee Jade and Sabin Mckenzie Tamayo and Penelope Anderson; aunts: Olga (Raul) Trelles, Sylvia Recio, Geneva Franks, Josie (Robert) Acosta, Norma Recio, Martha Recio, and Cynthia (Bill) Tamayo. She also leaves behind a plethora of cousins, and a local and worldwide circle of friends she loved like family.

A memorial service will be held at First Lockhart Baptist Church at 10 a.m. on, Saturday, March 5, 2016.

RIP Rose. I did not know you that well, but we did have our brief conversations in high school and later in college. I could tell that there was something special about you. I was right.
