Ruby Williams Moderow

Ruby Faye Williams Moderow, of Lockhart, passed away on Nov. 9, 2009. Born July 25, 1938, to Helen Vyrdrzal Williams and Julius Williams, Ruby grew up and attended school in Bastrop.

During her senior year of high school, she moved to Marquette, Neb., to be close to her new husband’s family while he served in the Korean War. She lived there until her husband’s de

ath, returning to Texas to be close to her family.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Sharon Kay Moderow, of Las Vegas; and sisters: Delphine Stall, of Manor, Julie Strickland, of Wimberley, Georgia Funderburk, of Taylorsville, Anna Joyce Mundell, of Smithville, and Zelma Beck, of Bastrop.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Melvin Moderow.

Ruby’s family and friends gathered for a remembrance lunch following a viewing at Pennington Funeral Home in San Marcos. Ruby will be returned to Nebraska to be buried with her husband. A memorial service will be held in Marquette at a later date.
