Roy Clinton “Bo” Voigt, of Garfield, Texas, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009.
He was born on Feb. 15, 1931 in Elm Grove, Texas, the son of Howard P. Voigt and Gladys M. (Hendricks) Voigt.

In 1959, he married his love, Florene (Clopton) Voigt and had two children, Justin Michael and Jeffrey Regan. He was a member of Central A

ssembly of God in Austin and First Assembly of God in Bastrop.

He retired from the Texas Water Development Board, working in Austin, Houston and Waco field offices. Bo loved farming, raising cattle and living on the Colorado River. He was a man that knew how to work hard and provide for his family. Most of all, he loved sharing time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and sister, Venver (Voigt) Briscoe.

Bo is survived by his sons, Justin Voigt and wife, Juanita, and Jeffrey Voigt and wife, Cheree’; grandchildren: Megan Nicole (Voigt) Dyer, Jeffrey Regan Voigt, Jr., Jonathan Michael Voigt, Rachel Michelle Voigt and Rebekah Joy Voigt; great-grandchildren: Jordyn Bailey Dyer, Jayden Carlos Voigt and expected great-grandchildren, the Dyer twins. He also leaves behind his sister Vernis (Voigt) Davis of Red Rock, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and special loved ones.

The family received friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home.

Funeral services to celebrate his life were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at First Assembly of God in Bastrop. Interment followed at Haynie Chapel Cemetery in Garfield, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in memory of Bo to First Assembly of God – Bastrop for their Missions Ministry, PO Box 846, Bastrop, Texas, 78602.
