Ruth Erma Osteen

Ruth Erma Osteen was born Nov. 28, 1912, in Ocala, Fla. She feel asleep in death April 7, 2012 in Dripping Springs, Texas, at the age of 99. She lived her last 70 years in Texas, and she now awaits her resurrection when our Lord Jesus returns to this earth to reestablish His Kingdom. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends during her final days.

Ruth was well kno

wn by her devoted faith in God. She began each day by reading God’s word and she would speak continually of her faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Arthur Osteen; her father, Frank John Beardslee; her mother, Jessie Viola Halsey; two sisters, three brothers, and her son, Robert Lovejoy.

She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Fulps and Eleanor Oatman; her son, Thurman Lovejoy and wife, Tonnal; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Govro and husband, Jim; grandchildren: Michael, Carlton, Richard, and James Lovejoy, Cindy Young, Janet and Sue Lovejoy, and David Cook. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Family received friends at McCurdy Funeral Home, from 5 – 7 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at McCurdy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gerald Sankey officiating. Interment to follow at Bunton Cemetery in Dale.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Austin Christadelphian Ecclesia or to New Century Hospice of Austin, Texas.
