Varsity Lions fall 3-1 to Manor Mustangs

The Varsity Lions hosted the Manor Mustangs on Friday, March 6 and fell 3-1 in a tough match.
Both the Lions and the Mustangs started out strong, with solid defensive and offensive plays in the first half.
The first goal of the evening belonged to the Lions. They scored with 33:42 remaining in the first period.

fter 25 minutes of relentless pressure from the Mustangs, the Lions let a Manor goal slip through for a tie score with 8:09 remaining in the first.
The first half ended at 1-1 despite the solid efforts from both teams.
The second half of play against the Mustangs was much different than the first. Manor scored a goal at the top of the second with 29:53 remaining in the period. A third Manor goal at 22:25 secured the Mustangs’ lead and cinched the win.
The Lions fought hard, kicking first against the wind, then with the wind and all the while battling solid Manor offense and defense. The game ended at 3-1.
The Junior Varsity Lions fell 2-1 after a long battle with the JV Mustangs.
The Lions traveled to Del Valle to face the Cardinals on Tuesday, March 10.
