Our beloved Mother and Grandmother, Mrs. Angelita Robles Davilla, has gone home to be with our
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Georgetown, Texas, on July 12, 1916, to Juan Robles and Delfina Garcia.
As a little girl, she lived with her parents in Warda, Texas. She was second to the youngest of nine siblings.
Years later in Winchester, Texas, she would me
et the love of her life, Antonio Davilla. Antonio and Angelita married in September 1939 at San Francisco Catholic Church in Austin. Together they lived on a farm in Mendoza, Texas, where they raised their family of eleven children.
In 1963, the Davilla family moved to Lockhart, Texas, where she would reside for the remainder of her life.
Angelita dedicated her life to her Faith and Family.
She was a proud homemaker. Some of her favorite hobbies were sewing, gardening, pickling and canning foods, and visiting with neighbors and friends. She lived a humble life, complete with hard work and happiness. Her spirit will continue to live within all of us. She will be greatly missed.
Angelita R. Davilla is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Davilla.
She is survived by her children: Lupe (Sonny) Gonzales, Mona (Joe) Albers, Sue (Fred) Perales and Ana (Steve) Cordova, all of Austin, Juan (Toni) Davilla, of Bastrop, Tony (Mary) Davilla, of Buda, Joe (Tiki) Davilla, Jesse (Rachel) Davilla, Delfina (Pete) Juarez, Linda (Leonard) Garcia and Albert Davilla, all of Lockhart.
She was blessed with 38 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons Manual Robles, Mark Hernandez, John Davilla, Vincent Davilla, Aaron Davilla and Bryan Garcia. Honorary pallbearers David Davilla, Steven Cordova, Joseph Davilla and Jesse Hernandez.
Recitation of the Rosary was held on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at 7 p.m. at St. Mary”s Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary”s Catholic Church. Burial followed at St. Mary”s Cemetery.
Funeral Services were under the direction of DeLeon Funeral Home, Lockhart, Texas and St. Mary”s Catholic Church, 300 N. Blanco, Lockhart, Texas.
