Linda Jane Green
Linda Jane (Kimen) Green was born in Pasadena, Texas on March 31, 1942, to Peter and Peg Kimen. She married Albert W. Green on Aug. 25, 1962. She went to join the Lord on Nov. 24, 2016.
Linda is a very loving intelligent and practical person. She loves God; she is a devoted daughter, wife mother grandmother and friend. She loved holidays that bring family and friends togethe
r to celebrate life. Her favorite holidays are Christmas, birthdays, Thanksgiving and friendly gatherings. She loves to travel or she happily puts up with her husband’s desire to travel. Al and Linda have been to over 20 countries on four different continents and been in 38 different states. Her favorite place to visit is the Grand Canyon. Her favorite sport activities are catching fish and watching football.
On Aug. 25, 2016, she celebrated her 54th wedding anniversary and 56 years of loving her husband Al. She loves going to church to worship God, sing hymns and pray. She loves country music and loves to dance to rock and roll. She’s generous with her heart, time and money donating all of these to people in need, (friends and strangers like). She graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in secondary education. She is an accomplished speaker and participated in Toastmasters International where she received many awards. In lieu of flowers, she asks that any monetary gifts be made to dementia research to cure this horrible disease.
Linda’s parents, Peter A. and Peg (Radde) Kimen, and one brother, Larry Kimen, went to the Lord before her.
She is survived by her husband Al; her two sons, John and James; her brother, Dennis; her daughter-in-law, Lori; her granddaughters Ema, Tessa and Alexis; and many friends.
Friends are invited to join Linda’s family to celebrate her life on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary of Berkley United Methodist Church, 2407 Berkeley Ave., in Austin, Texas.
