Joe Fischer, Jr. was born in the Elm Grove farming community on Aug. 18, 1923, and graduated from Elm Grove Community School. Family received friends at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at McCurdy Funeral Home, with a Celebration service following at 11 a.m. Interment followed at the Lockhart City Cemetery, Lockhart, Texas.
