Season starts slow for Lady Lions

The Varsity Lady Lions made a slow start on the season during a scrimmage against the Austin Crockett Lady Cougars on Aug. 10. The Lions fell in three hard-fought sets, (19-25), (23-25) and (15-25).

According to Coach Lisa Cone, Lauren Moore led the Lady Lions with three aces. Desiree Roland and Jesi Greer had two aces

each.

Moore also opened her stat sheet for the season with seven hits, while Isis Johnson picked up one block.
Greer had 10 assists and 14 digs, followed closely by Tori Hill, who had nine assists and eight digs.

The Lady Lions will participate in tournament play in Shiner this weekend, and will return home to face the Jefferson Lady Bulldogs in the Lion’s Den on Tuesday, Sept. 1. The Freshman will play in the Old Gym at 5 p.m., while the JV Lady Lions occupy the Main Gym. The Varsity Lady Lions will play in the Lion’s Den Main Gym beginning at 6:15 p.m.
