Mr. Anastacio Rosalez “Chito” Escobedo Jr., 83, of Lockhart, passed away peacefully on Jan. 26, 2013, with the mother of his children, Carolina Soliz, along with family and friends at his side.
Anastacio was born on Jan. 29, 1929, to Anastacio and Leandra Escobedo in Lockhart, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anastacio and Leandra Escobedo; and his siblings, Guadalupe Mojica, Domingo Escobedo, Juan Escobedo and Carolina E. Vasquez.
Anastacio is survived by the mother of his children, Carolina Soliz; daughters: Lupe E. Lopez (Arthur, Sr.), and Aurora Gamez (Manuel), of Lockhart, Gloria Cortez (Jesus) and Rosemarie Norfleet, of Austin; sons: Ruben Escobedo and Rudy Escobedo, of Houston, Andy Escobedo, of Austin, and Anastacio S. Escobedo, III, (Eva), of Chula Vista, Calif. Anastacio had 30 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
A visitation was scheduled from noon – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Deleon’s Funeral Home, with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. The Mass of Celebration was scheduled at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Jan. 31, 2013, with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Lockhart.
Serving as the pallbearers are: Freddy Castillo, Jr., Baudelio Vargas, Jr., Arthur Lopez, Jr., Andrew Escobedo, Jr., Jacob Acosta and Abel Escobedo. Serving as Honorary Pallbearer is Freddy Escobedo.
