Joseph Borja
Joseph “Joey” Borja, of Lockhart, passed away on June 7, 2016, in Kyle Texas.
He was born on Jan. 6, 1975, in Austin, Texas, to Ronald and Claudia Borja. He graduated from Lockhart High School with the Class of 1993, and went on to earn a degree in History from Southwest Texas State University, and later a Master of Liberal Arts from St. Edward’s University. He spent m
uch of his life as a musician and an educator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Borja and Claudia Snodgrass; his step-father, George Snodgrass.
He is survived by his brothers, Curtis Borja (Vera), of Austin, and Rene Borja (Lisa) of Lockhart; his niece, Kaeshel Reed, of Victoria; stepbrother, Marty Snodgrass (Sandi); and stepsisters, Cheryl Campbell (Jack) and Kim Murdock (Doug).
Joe loved educating children, and was blessed to be able to travel the world as a musician.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, in San Marcos. Later, family and friends will celebrate his life in a reception at Cedar Hall, 1721 S. Commerce St., in Lockhart, from 4 – 8 p.m.
