LISD tax rate to remain unchanged

The Lockhart ISD Board of Trustees on Monday voted to leave the 2018-19 property tax rate unchanged from the current year: $1.33236 per $100 valuation.
The rate has gone unchanged since 2016 – a move that district administrators say will help LISD save taxpayers’ money by allowing it to pay off debt incurred by previous bond issues.
The vote didn’t pass unanimously. At-large board member Michael Wright and District No. 3 member Becky Lockhart voted against it.
