Ina Hill Hall

Ina Hill Hall was born in Tilmon, Texas on May 4, 1910 to William Columbus Hill and Florence Benton Ellison Hill. She passed from this earth on Jan. 27 in Luling, Texas. She was the youngest of four children. She was married on May 19, 1930 to Jesse T- “Tony” Hall in Gonzales, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and brothers Starley Hill and Weldon Hill

and sister Helen Hill Beasley and by her husband of 54 years J.T. “Tony” Hall. Her daughter Ramona Hall Mosley and her sons Tom Benton Hall and John Allen Hall survive her. Her grandchildren Marie Inette Mosley, Jennifer Lauren Hall, and John Allen Hall II, and son-in-law Robert P. Mosley and daughters-in-law, Janette Hall and Diane Hall also survive her. Ina Hill Hall was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Luling and she was a long-time member of the First Lockhart Baptist Church. She attended the Tilmon Schools and her father was a member of the Tilmon Schools Board of Trustees. She also attended the Luling Public Schools where she loved to play basketball as a teenager. She was a founding member of the Clearfork Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and very active in the organization for many years. Ina Hill Hall loved everything about Texas from the oil booms in Kilgore and Luling to the bluebonnets beside each road. She loved the farms, the fields, the piney woods, and even the mesquite trees of Texas. She loved the history of its people and its places and she loved to travel and meet and be with people. She did not know a stranger and she was interested in the story of each person she met. She had a great sense of humor and she loved and admired her loving husband of 54 years and kept his picture and memory close at hand. Ina Hill Hall was a loving mother and grandmother and she gave freely of her love and devotion to her family. “Her strength, character, and faith in the Lord were an inspiration to all who knew her. In her last years of life Ina Hill Hall was a resident of the Golden Age Home of Lockhart and the Cuero Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Cuero, Texas. She loved the people and these places and her family thanks them for their love, care, and devotion to her. Visitation was held Friday, Jan. 28 at McCurdy Funeral Home. Services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29 at McCurdy Memorial Chapel. Internment followed at the Clearfork Cemetery, Elder Vance Rogers officiating. Pallbearers in attendance were Tom Arch Efird, William Ellison, Buddy Williams, Bobby Brown III, Larry Marek, Johnny Hall and Bruce Wilson.
