County groups join BEAST training
Firefighters from Mid-County Fire/Rescue, Luling Volunteer Fire Department, Southeast Caldwell County VFD, and Bastrop County ESD#2 endured high temperatures and oppressive humidity to attend a Basic Engine And Suppression Tactics (BEAST) course presented by Texas A&M Forest Service. Students were introduced to basic engine terminology, structure triage, foam and water use practices to optimize any water available. This course was sponsored by the Caldwell County Fire Chiefs Association and the Caldwell County Office of Emergency Management. A special thanks goes out to the The Luling Foundation farm for allowing the use of its facilities for the valuable training.
