Lora Gail Faucett Ferguson

Lora Gail Faucett Ferguson, born in Dale, Texas on August 7, 1949, passed away on May 1, 2024, in Pflugerville, Texas, at the age of 74, surrounded by her loving family. Throughout her life, she represented love, compassion, courage, and strength.

Born in the small community of Dale, Texas, Gail developed a strong sense of compassion and deep appreciation for family values from an early age. Her time at Lockhart High School fostered lifelong friendships that she cherished dearly.

On December 19, 1969, Gail married the love of her life, Henry, in a beautiful ceremony at the First Lockhart Baptist Church. Their union was blessed with 54 years of love, devotion, and partnership.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Nell Alexander Stark, Gerald Stark, Elwood Faucett, and her brother, Jack Faucett.

She is survived by her loving husband, Henry Ferguson, and their faithful dog, Gracie. Together, they nurtured and guided their three children: Mark Ferguson and wife Crystal of Pflugerville, Clinton Ferguson and wife Yolanda of Pflugerville, and Laura Doise and husband Tom of Cedar Creek. Gail’s cherished legacy extends to her eleven adored grandchildren: Eric & Taylor Chaney, Spencer Ferguson; Bruce, Waylon, Hank, and Harlan Ferguson; Karlie, Mason, Ava, and Hayden Doise. Additionally, Gail is survived by her brother, Rev. Charles Stark and wife Bonnie.

Gail began her professional career working for the Law Office of Tom Moore. She continued her work in the justice system, dedicating herself to roles at the Caldwell County District Attorney’s Office and later at the Texas District & County Attorneys Association, from where she retired. She was deeply committed to her work, and her efforts touched many lives in her community and beyond.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Gail was known for her vibrant personality and zest for life. Her warm and welcoming nature made everyone feel like family. She had a passion for adventure and was always eager to try new things. Whether it was getting her first tattoo at 40 or dyeing her hair with streaks of bright color once it had grayed, she embraced life with courage and enthusiasm. These qualities were passed down to her grandchildren, who continue to embody her spirit of fearlessness and curiosity.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Gail’s life will be held at First Lockhart Baptist Church on May 25th at 10 am, with a reception to follow. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Gail to join them in paying their respects and sharing memories of her life.

Gail’s passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her kindness, love, and unwavering spirit.
