Lions’ junior high squads take 3 of 4 vs. Barnes

Lockhart Junior High opened its football season Tuesday by winning three of four games against Barnes Middle School of Seguin.
The Lions swept the 8th Grade games at Seguin, while splitting the 7th Grade games in Lockhart.
Carlo Rocha had an interception and Denim Ford scored two touchdowns and had two sacks in the Lockhart 8th Grade Maroon’s 14-7 victory.
The 8th Grade White squad beat Barnes, 20-13. Juilian Quintanilla was a standout player with an impressive touchdown run for Lockhart.
In 7th Grade action, Lockhart’s Maroon handled Barnes, 27-6. Quintin Reese scored three times, and Jake White scored on an end around for the Lions.
Lockhart Junior High lost its only game in the 7th Grade White contest, falling to Barnes, 13-6. Josh Rodriguez was credited as the LJH outstanding player of the game.
