Ysmael G. Carrizales
Mr. Ysmael G. Carrizales, 83, of Lockhart, Texas, passed away on March 27, 2010 , in San Antonio, Texas. He was surrounded by his family. Ysmael was born in Uhland, Texas, on Jan. 22, 1927.
He was retired from J.C. Evans Construction Company in Austin, Texas . He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 – 1947, earning a Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal – Germany
. In his later years, Ysmael volunteered his time and energy to the upkeep of the Santa Maria Aida Cemetery in Maxwell, Texas .
Ysmael is survived by his daughters, Nelda Manzano and Elda Peralez, of Austin; sons, Rodolpho (Alicia) Carrizales and Noah (Lucy) Carrizales, of San Antonio, Texas, and Noel (Adriana) Carrizales of Austin; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Margie Carrizales; sisters, Alicia Gochicoa, of San Antonio, and Eloisa Guzman, of San Marcos; brothers, Pete (Mary) Carrizales and Guadalupe (Vivian) Carrizales, of Austin, and Ramiro (Teresa) Carrizales, of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ysmael was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Y. Carrizales; son, Henry P. Carrizales; parents, David and Esther Carrizales; and sister, Rina Ramirez.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at DeLeon Funeral Home. Funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at St. Mary”s Catholic Church in Lockhart. Burial followed at Santa Maria Aida Cemetery in Maxwell, Texas.
Pallbearers were his grandsons Adrian Carrizales, Jason Carrizales and Rodolpho Carrizales, Jr., and nephews, Alex Ramirez, and Ronnie and Joseph Carrizales.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of the Extended Care Therapy Center (ECTC) of Audie Murphy Memorial VA Hospital in San Antonio for the care they provided to Ysmael during these past months and the kindness they showed to all the family members and friends who visited him.
