Sue Martin
Sue Martin, devoted mother, grandmother and true friend, passed away Sept. 13, 2010. Sue, or “Susie” to all who loved her, was born June 30, 1941 in Beaumont, Texas, and was a long-time resident of Austin. Sue was a loving, strong woman who was dedicated to her family and her many, many friends from all over the United States.
Susie’s approach to life was to me
et it head-on, and share herself with others along the way. She was a constant visitor to those in need, an ardent supporter of AIDS Services of Austin, an avid reader, a legal assistant for many years with the law firm of Fitzgerald & Meissner, P.C., and always there for anyone.
She was that friend upon whom everyone had no fear to call!
Sue raised three children: Sherrie, Debbie and Darrell. Her pride and joy were her four beautiful grandchildren: Laine, Trenton, Dylan and Sarah; and one great- grandchild, Elisa.
After complications from surgery, our Susie passed peacefully surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children, Sherrie Johnson and husband, Mike, of Lockhart, and Debbie Mitchell and husband, Phil, of Round Rock; her grandchildren Laine, Trenton and Dylan Duffourc, of Lockhart, and Sarah Mitchell, of Round Rock; and her great-grandchild, Elisa Duffourc, of Lockhart.
Sue was preceded in death by her son, Darrell and brother, Mike Martin, and former husband, Jack Stuessy.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 26 from 3 -6 p.m. Casa Blanca on Brushy Creek (www. casablancatexas.com), 2211 Hairy Man Rd., Round Rock, Texas, 78681. Please send remembrances to MySueStory@gmail.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to AIDS Services of Austin, P.O. Box 4874, Austin, Texas, 78765 (www.asaustin.org).
