The Lockhart Lady Lions extended their winning streak to three matches last Tuesday night, defeating the Ellison Eagles in four sets, 3-1. The victory also served as redemption for Lockhart, who had previously fallen to the Eagles in a close 2-1 contest earlier this season.

With the win, Lockhart improved its record to 4-9 and gained valuable momentum heading into district play. The Lady Lions displayed strong execution at the net and steady defense, particularly in the decisive fourth set where they closed out the match with confidence.

Head Coach Brittany Oruonyehu praised the effort and resilience her team showed in the win. “This game was a big win for our girls. We fought hard, played with heart, and pushed through to finish strong in that fourth set. It was a significant achievement for us as a team and serves as a great segue into our upcoming district games. My setters really stepped up, placing the ball perfectly for our hitters to execute the attacks we needed to score. I’m proud of the effort and teamwork everyone showed on the court.”

The Lady Lions will now look to carry their momentum into district competition as they continue to build on their recent success.
