Youth competition announced

There’s something special about watching a young musician step up to the mic for the first time, and we’re inviting the next generation of artists to do exactly that at Old Settler’s 2026.

The Youth Talent Competition is a key part of our mission as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. And it is more than just this program — it’s a chance to build confidence, to perform on a festival stage, to connect with other young musicians, and to take a meaningful step forward in a lifelong musical journey.

We’ve watched past participants grow into confident performers, including Grammy winners and contestants on The Voice — but most importantly, they leave knowing they belong on stage.

Whether you play bluegrass, traditional, folk, Americana, roots music, or write your own original songs, this is your moment to be seen and heard.

If you or a young musician you know is ready to share their talent, we encourage you to apply now.

All applications must be submitted by February 28, 2026.

2025 Youth Talent Competition Winner

We’re proud to celebrate Ira Thorne Clifton, our 2025 Old Settler’s Youth Talent Competition winner! Ira captivated the crowd with his remarkable musicianship, heartfelt songwriting, and stage presence well beyond his years. His performance embodied the spirit of Old Settler’s—authentic, rootsy, and full of heart. We can’t wait to see what’s next for this rising star as he continues to share his talent and passion for music with the world. Catch his set on the OSMF stage on Saturday, April 18.
