The Lockhart Lions boys golf team turned in a strong showing at the Rattler Classic, hosted by San Marcos High School, continuing to build momentum as district play approaches.
Lockhart’s first team finished in a three-way tie for third place with a team total of 326, holding its own in a competitive field. Leading the charge was Chris Collins, who captured the individual title with an even-par 72, a poised and disciplined round that set the tone for the day.
Adres Osuna also delivered a solid performance, tying for third place with a 76 and helping anchor the Lions’ team finish.
It was an encouraging outing for Lockhart as the postseason nears, with several players rounding into form at the right time.
The Lions will be back in action next week at Forest Creek Golf Club in Round Rock for the District Preview, a key opportunity to get a look at the course before the stakes rise later this month. The District Tournament is scheduled for March 25–26 for the boys, while the girls will compete March 30–31.
