March 29, 1934-June 19, 2026

Donald Ray Duvall went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on June 19, 2026 at the age of 92. Born in Austin, Texas to Euell and Lula Duvall on March 29, 1934, he began a long life dedicated to his Lord and hundreds if not thousands of church members that he guided on their independent spiritual paths.
Don married the love of his life, Rose Marie Reneau, on June 11, 1960 at the Pond Springs Baptist Church in Jollyville (North Austin).
Before answering God’s call to full-time ministry, Don proudly served in the United States Army. His commitment to serving others was evident throughout his life, both in uniform and in the pulpit.
In his early years Don was an avid coon hunter with his faithful dog “Skeet”. Later in life, he enjoyed a game of golf so much that he scheduled his church service early Sunday mornings so he could make his 1 pm tee time with his buddies.
He began his ministry at a small rural Baptist church in Gorum, Louisiana. He continued spreading the word of God at churches throughout Texas including Fitzhugh, Lanier, Dripping Springs, Shiner, Big Lake, Lockhart and then Martindale. Although Pastor Duvall had retired from the First United Methodist Church in Lockhart, the Church Conference asked him to go the small church in Martindale to close it due to its membership dwindling down to just five members. Don, his wife Rose, and the five faithfuls saw a light in the church that refused to burn out. Within a few years that church membership grew to 120.
After finally retiring in 2018 from the Little Green Church in Martindale, Don spent four years at his home in Lockhart until he moved to the Seguin Assisted Living Center in 2022 where he became friends to all of the attendants and other residents. He was still able to minister to everyone there while attending regular worship services at the facility.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rose, and brother Scotty.
He is survived by his two sons Ray Duvall and Gibb Duvall and wife Julie; grandchildren Hailey Collins (Thomas), Faith Frohock (Jeremy), Diane Myers (Shane), Cory Duvall, and Crystal Duvall; great-grandchildren Jalyn, Kaiden, Trey, Zion, Jordan, Everlee, Brynlee, Bailey, Madison, Mackenzie; and great-great-grandaughter Acelynn. He is also survived by nephew David Duvall (Teressa) and great nieces Christina and Courtney.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the The Little Green Church of Martindale, “building restoration fund”, PO Box 552, Martindale TX 78655. The historic sanctuary dates back to 1903 and fellowship building 1907.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 am July 11, 2026 at the Little Green Church in Martindale (308 Bowie at Jennings Streets). Reception and lunch served following the service across the parking lot in the fellowship hall.
