Lockhart baseball defeats Hendrickson
The Lockhart varsity baseball team ended the first half of district play by defeating the Hendrickson Hawks 7-1.
Michael Schulle went the distance on the mound to pick up the win for Lockhart. In five official innings, Schulle gave up three hits and struck out eight Hendrickson batters.
The game was shortened due to severe thunders storms that moved into the area
near the end of the game.
Hendrickson put two hits together in the first inning to score their only run.
Lockhart scored three runs in the second inning off hits from Steve Gonzales, Michael Schulle and Andrew Capello. Capello”s triple was the big blow of the inning as he drove in two runs for Lockhart.
In the third, Lockhart had hits from Justin Garcia, Wes Selman, Dennis Ortiz and Michael Schulle. Schulle would be credited with two RBI”s.
Lockhart scored two more runs in the fifth as Clay Ohlendorf picked up one RBI to complete the scoring. Lockhart”s district record now stands at 3-3.
Their next home game will be against Vista Ridge on Friday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m.
