Leander topples Lions Varsity, 66-44
The Lockhart Lions” varsity basketball team hosted Leander on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the Lions” Den resulting in a loss for the Lions, 66-49.
Leander took the lead during the first quarter, which set the tone for the game.
Lead scorer for the Lions was Chris Hodges with 12 points. Trailing close behind in points was Brandon Hodges with nine points. Also scoring f
or Lockhart were Terrance Waldon with six points, Michael Schulle with six points, Mark Black with five points, Thomas Elizondo with five points, Daniel Garza with three points, Michael Black with two points, and Nick Jones with a free throw.
On Friday, Nov. 18, the Lions traveled to Seguin to play the Matadors. The competition was close for both opponents; however, Leander came out on top taking home a 54-48 victory.
High scorer for the Lions was Michael Black with 14 points with 70 percent from the free-throw line.
Also contributing points tot he scoreboard were Thomas Elizondo with 12 points and 100 percent from the free-throw line, Michael Schulle with six points, Mark Black with five points and 83 percent from the free-throw line, Brandon Hodges with three points, Chris Hodges with three points, Terrance Waldon with two points, and Daniel Garza with two points.
The Lions next home game will be on Tuesday, Dec. 6, against Yoakum at the Lions” Den.
