Betty Jean Ewald
Betty Jean Ewald of Lockhart, Texas, passed away on Dec. 31, 2012, at the age of 81. She was born on Jan. 3, 1931, in Velasco, Texas, to Tommy Chester and Maggie Lee (Calhoun) Lambert.
Betty was a wonderful lady that was known to never meet a stranger. During her lifetime she worked at University of Texas, Southwest Texas State University and also was a caregiver for the eld
erly. She was also a Sunday school teacher for many years at Trinity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Billy Herman Ewald; one granddaughter, Charlotte Ann Ewald; and two brothers, Tommy Lambert, Jr., and Horace Chester Lambert.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Kay Martin; one brother, Billy Lee Lambert and wife, Billie Jean; two grandchildren, Christopher William Bollman and Brian Allan Ewald; and three great-grandchildren, James Torres, Justin Torres and Blaise Lamb.
Family received friends at McCurdy Funeral Home, from 4 – 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart, with Rev. Larry Hargraves officiating. Interment followed at Lockhart City Cemetery.
