Joyce Huddleston
Joyce Lanelle Harrison Huddleston of Lockhart, Texas, passed away on Oct. 19, 2013, at the age of 87. She was born on Aug. 22, 1926, in Lockhart, Texas, to Charlie and Mattie Viola (Lawler) Harrison.
Joyce was a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, beloved by family and friends. She served Caldwell County for 27 years in the Caldwell County Courthouse, the last
12 as Caldwell County Treasurer. Joyce was an active member of McMahan Baptist Church for 57 years, serving as church pianist for over four decades.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Huddleston; and her son, Ted Huddleston.
She is survived by her son, Wayne C. Huddleston and wife, Dana; three grandchildren: Jeffery Huddleston and wife, Emily, Jared Huddleston and wife, Kimberly, and Jacob Huddleston and wife, Monique; and six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lanelle Kelley and husband, Guy Kelly, Jr.
Family received friends at McCurdy Funeral Home, from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013. Funeral services were planned at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at McCurdy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rick Smith officiating. Interment followed at Jeffrey Cemetery in McMahan.
