Wallace Swan
Wallace Ray (Walker) Swan was born on Aug. 15, 1946, in Caldwell County. He is preceded in death by his mother, Joe Irene (Walker) Roland and his father, Ollie Swan.
He enlisted in the United States Army to serve our country on Nov. 8, 1966. He was stationed at Fort Polk, La., in which his conduct was noted as “excellent” and he was honorably discharged on Feb. 24, 1967.
Wallace accepted Christ at an early age. Wallace is survived by four brothers: Harold Dean Roland, Clay Douglas Roland and James Polk Roland, all of Dale, and Kennedy Clay Roland and wife, Cathy Roland of Lockhart; four sisters: Margie Thompson, of San Antonio, Margaret Pansy and husband, Wallace, of Lockhart, Edna Roland, of Austin, and Yevett Manning and husband, Carey, of Lockhart; 21 nieces and nephews, 30 great-nieces and -nephews and 10 great-grand-nieces
and -nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Wallace was a sweet, gentle man that lived a simple but beautiful life surrounded by those that loved him.
A funeral service was planned at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at Eeds Funeral Home Chapel, with a private burial to follow at St. John’s Colony. All arrangements with Eeds Funeral Home, 408 S. Main St., Lockhart, Texas. (512) 398-2343.
