Betty Joan Moore, 78, of Harwood died April 26, 2006.
Mrs. Moore was born Dec. 6, 1927 in Bloomington, Ind. to Elmer T. and Pearl T. Williams Burch.
She is survived by her children, Kay Michele Swanson of Harwood, Traci Wright Robb of Austin, Theresa Wright Mordica of Burnet and Thomas Wright of Boerne; sister Jean Perkins of Austin; seven grandchildren and one g
reat-grandchild.

Dean W. New
Dean Waymond New, 67, of Crosby, was surrounded by his family when he left this life Friday evening, May 5, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He and his twin brother Gene were born in Luling, Texas on Nov. 28, 1938 to Marlon and Lillian (Lay) New.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired as a sales manager with Westec Barrier Technologies. A member of the First Baptist Church of Crosby, Dean enjoyed being outdoors, working on his tractor, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Cheryl A. New of Crosby; sons, Charles Boyd New and wife, Kristie of Cypress, Texas, Joseph Clay New and wife, Cathy of Spring, Texas and Gene Kevin New and wife, Melissa of San Antonio; stepsons, Steven Paul Killen and wife, Rebecca of Center, Texas, and John Anthony Killen of Nacogdoches, Texas; brother, Gene Raymond New and wife, Doris of Alvin, Texas; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2006, at First Baptist Church of Crosby, 615 Runneburg Rd., Rev. Robin Butler officiating. Interment followed in Border Cemetery in Center, Texas.
Dean was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and treasured friend to many, devoting much of the last four years of his life ministering and helping others live with cancer. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
