Billy C. “Popeye” Laney

Billy C. “Popeye” Laney, 79, passed away Oct. 28, 2007. He was born April 13, 1928 in Canadian, Texas, to the late S.M. and Grace Burton Laney. Billy was an insurance agent and a member of Baptist Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Strawn Laney, of Victoria; two daughters, Sylvia Laney Rader, of Victoria and Cindy Laney Kaufmann of New Braunfels; son, Billy La

wson Laney, of Dallas; grandchildren, Haley, Shelley and Natalee Rader, Kristy Kaufmann Chao, Kelly and Karrah Kaufmann, Billy Jr. and Becky Laney; two brothers, David H. Laney of Sealy and J.W. Laney of Possum Kingdom; and one great-grandchild.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, S.M. Laney, Sr. and Grace Burton Laney, and one brother, S.M. Laney, Jr.
Visitation was from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at Lytton Springs Cemetery in Lytton Springs, Texas.
