Booker now Commanding officer of “Evil” India Company

First Lieutenant Robert Henry Booker of Martindale was recently appointed as the Commanding Officer of “Evil” India Company, 3d Battalion, 2d Marines, 2d Marine Division. The infantry company is composed of three rifle platoons, a weapons platoon, and a headquarters platoon. The company’s role is to locate, close with, and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver. 3d Battalion 2d Marines, known as the Betio Bastards, gained their reputation during WWII in the Battle of Tarawa and the Battle of Okinawa, amongst other island campaigns.
