November 10, 1946-March 19, 2025

On March 19, 2025, Carroll Beirne Eeds (“Beirne”) passed away into a deep sleep awaiting the return of His Lord and Savior. Born November 10, 1946, to Carroll Dean Eeds and Wanda Ploetz, Beirne was the eldest of three children, including brother Walter Chapman, and sister Gretchen Ellen who died at birth. Beirne was born in Lockhart and lived his entire life in the same small town. He graduated from Lockhart High School Class in 1965 and shortly after graduation attended the Commonwealth Mortuary Institute in Houston where he received his Mortuary of Science Degree and Funeral Director’s License. While in school, he met his wife of 37 years. He assumed ownership of his uncle’s Funeral Home in 1972 and shortly thereafter, he and Alice Ann (Speck) Eeds began the process of introducing their four children to the world. Kelle Suzanne Balch (Bobby), Jason Brett Eeds (Brenda), Eric Anthony Eeds (Monica), and Leslie Allison Estrada (Greg).
Beirne was known for his larger-than-life personality, his ability to tell stories, and his compassion for others. He will always be remembered for the many weekends he would cook outside on the pit. It was always slowly cooked half friers, baked beans, coleslaw, and corn dish. For anyone who experienced his cooking, they realized it was the best, even if we didn’t start eating until oftentimes well after 8:30pm at night.
Beirne was a member of the Intercontinental Church of God and attended the local congregation in Cedar Creek every Sabbath. Throughout the years he managed to meet and build a church family from all over the US, as he also attended the Annual Holy Days as prescribed in the Bible.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister. In addition to his brother, ex-wife and four children, Beirne is survived by his grandchildren Sarah Mullinnix, Hannah Estrada, Laurel Eeds, Madison Estrada (Shaft), Mason Eeds, Olivia Hernandez-Eeds, Margaret Hernandez-Eeds and great-grandchildren Braylon Estrada and Aryah Cubit. He is also survived by so many additional family members and friends who now grieve this loss.
In the book of Hebrews, it states “It is appointed for men to die once”. Creation didn’t end in the Garden and so it is necessary as we have not come to our destination. Death hurts and is extremely painful, and it will be the last thing to be put down, but because of our loving and merciful Creator and the faith He provides, death doesn’t have to be frightening as it has a purpose.
Viewing will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, March 27 at Eeds Funeral Home located at 408 South Main in Lockhart, Texas. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, March 28 at 11:00 am at Eeds Funeral Home, with burial to follow.
