Charlie McKean
Charlie Culling McKean went to be with the Lord on Dec. 5, 2015, at the age of 97. Charlie was born June 18, 1918 in Taylorsville, Texas, to George Cole and Ollie Mae McKean.
Charlie was united in marriage to Crystal Onita Fischer McKean on June 16, 1938, in Taylorsville. Charlie served in the Armed Forces in War World II and was a long time employee of Lockhart Motor Comp
any.
Charlie enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and spending time in his garden. Until very recently, Charlie was blessed to live at home due to the loving care provided by Rita Marvelli and Sammy Castro.
Charlie is proceeded in death by Crystal, his loving wife of 67 years and his daughter, Deanna Frey.
Charlie is survived by his son, Ronnie, and wife, Betsy McKean, of New Braunfels; sister, Natalene Fischer, of Lockhart; brother, Calvin McKean, of Kerrville; grandchildren: Gregory Frey, Jr., Brad Frey, Kris Frey, Kelly Simpson and Kathy Westbrook; and great-grandchildren: Jacob Frey, Taylor Frey, Britney Frey, Amalee Frey, Cole Frey, McKeana Frey, Tyler Westbrook, Ryan Simpson and Ella Simpson.
A visitation was planned on Monday, Dec. 7 from 5-7 p.m. at Eeds Funeral Home. Graveside services were planned held at Lockhart City Cemetery with Rev. Gary Rodgers officiating on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
The family suggests memorial Contributions to the Lone Star Chapter National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Heart to Heart Hospice.
