Special to the LPR

Lockhart community leaders and business owners are practicing their free throws and raising money to support the students of Clear Fork Elementary.

This year’s community lineup includes Jacob Salas of Riley’s Barbeque, Caldwell County Commissioner ed Theriot, Rebecca Pulliam of State Farm Insurance and an LISD board member, Mario Gutierrez and Cesar Gutierrez of Mario’s Tacos, CFE SR Officer Audie Evans, Alaina Pusatere and Mikki Leos of HEB, Bobby Herzog of the Lockhart Downtown Business Association and Vogel Furniture, Jonathan Gonzales of the Greater Caldwell County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Isaac Martinez of the Lockhart Police Department.

Local DJ Rob Ortiz will emcee and participate as a shooter. There will also be a CFE legend participating as a secret shooter. First Lockhart National Bank is outfitting all shooters with special t-shirts.

The day of the event, each shooter will be given one minute to make as many free throws as possible.  The shooter with the most baskets and funds raised will be crowned the winner! Awards for most funds raised and highest number of free throws for students and adults will be given in addition to the grand prize trophy.

Supporters are encouraged to visit https://givebutter.com/cfeshootout2024 to support their shooter.  Every $10 donated equals one basket to be added to the shooters overall total.  All proceeds will benefit the students of Clearfork Elementary.
