As construction presses forward on State Highway 130, Caldwell County commuters are reminded to exercise caution when traveling in construction areas.
Information released this week by the SH-130 Concession Company indicates a wide variety of road closures across Caldwell County this week, on both the northern and west
ern ends of the project. Public safety officials suggest that oftentimes, accidents in construction areas are not caused by the construction itself, but rather by careless drivers either speeding, “rubber-necking,” or not heeding the warnings of signs and flaggers.
Drivers ticketed in denoted construction areas could face fines up to twice the normal figure for such violations.
