Curtis D. Jeffrey
Curtis D. “Jeff” Jeffrey, 80, of McMahan, passed away on June 4, 2008. He was born on Sept. 16, 1927, to Curtis Paul Jeffrey and Vida Mae Alexander, in Caldwell County, Texas.
He was united in matrimony Sept. 16, 1951, with Gloria Reed. Jeff served his country in the US Army WWII. Mr. Jeffrey was also very active in his community. He was the President and Founder
of the Tri-Community Wildlife Association, President of Jeffrey Cemetery Association, member of the McMahan VFD and a member of Luling Primitive Baptist Church.
He was a Territorial Manager with Firestone for over 20 years before leaving to become a Fleet Manager with Buttercrust Bakery in Austin, Texas, retiring in the early 90s.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents; wife Gloria Reed Jeffrey; and brother, Gaines Clayton Jeffrey.
He is survived by sons Keith Jeffrey and wife, Dixie, Dwight Jeffrey and wife, Linda, and Lance Jeffrey and wife, Patty, all of McMahan, Texas; daughter, Belinda Jeffrey-Seely and husband, Steve, of McMahan; grandchildren Becky Jeffrey, Kari Jeffrey, Kirk Jeffrey, Michael Jeffrey, Ashley Jeffrey, Justin Jeffrey, Grayson Seely, Austin Seely and Dustin Kibbe; and brother, Donald Jeffrey and wife, Darlene, of McMahan.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 6, 2008, at 6 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home, and services were on Saturday, June 7, 2008, at 10 a.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home, with burial following at the Jeffrey Cemetery in McMahan, Texas.
