Deutsch has dominant performance against Glenn

By Anthony Collins

The Lockhart Lions achieved a narrow, 1-0, victory against the Glenn Grizzlies, shutting them down thanks to a stellar performance from Gage Deutsch.

The win was particularly significant for Lockhart, as it avenged its 8-1 loss to Leander Glenn last season.

Deutsch stood out in the game, showcasing his skills both as a pitcher and a batter. Deutsch delivered an amazing pitching performance, not allowing any earned runs and only giving up one hit while striking out 11 batters in seven innings.

He has consistently performed well, keeping his opponents to two hits or fewer in his last four pitching appearances. In addition to his mound duties, Deutsch also made an impact with his bat, hitting a home run.

“Proud of how the guys played together to support the strong pitching performance by Gage Deutsch,” LHS Head Coach San Juan Arias said. “The boys did a lot of small things right that kept us in the game and eventually gave us the opportunity to pick up the win.”

Lockhart is now 10-7-1 overall and 1-3 in district actin. The Lions visited Cedar Park on Tuesday and will play host to Cedar Park on Thursday at 7 p.m.
