Dominic Pellegrino
Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Dominic Pellegrino was held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Palm Coast, Fla. on Monday, Oct. 17. Mr. Pellegrino died in his home in Palm Coast on Oct. 11, with his daughters at his bedside.
Mr. Pellegrino was born July 4, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pa. He graduated from Northeast High School in Philadelphia. He
was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1945, having received the Allied Victory Medal and the Distinguished Service Medal. During World War II he served both in North Africa and in South America in search and rescue.
He raised his family in Levittown, Pa., where he owned a TV repair business and worked for Sears and Roebucks and Barry”s Fine Furniture. He moved from Pennsylvania to Florida in 1990.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine Roberts Pellegrino; his daughter, Karen Pellegrino Steinman; sisters, Linda and Eddie; and brother Frank.
He is survived by his daughters, Maryanne Morris of Lockhart and Gloria House of Corning, N.Y; his sons Stephen of Narragansett, R.I., and Paul of Addison, N.Y; sisters Vera McQuillen, Helen Rutherford and Rita Bryson, all of Philadelphia; grandchildren Jennifer Heiler and Rachel Bingaman both of Corning, N.Y,; David Merritt of Sagertown, Pa.; Karen Morris of Austin; Adam Morris of Durham, N.C.; and Risha Pellegrino of Narragansett, R.I.; and five great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Glenside, Pa., on July 4, 2006. There will be a celebration of his life on that day with all friends and family attending.
