Dora Pierce

Dora Ann Pierce, 60, of San Antonio, formerly of Lockhart passed away Jan. 15, 2007. Mrs. Pierce was born June 17, 1946 in Lockhart, Texas. Her parents were the late Carrol A. Thomas and Norvella Ellison Thomas. Before her retirement in 1999, Mrs. Pierce was a self-employed hairstylist who owned her own beauty shop.

Mrs. Pierce is survived by her mother, Norvella Thomas; one sister, Doris and husband Alex Hayes of Port Arthur Texas; three brothers, Carrol and wife Linda Thomas of Beaumont, Texas, John Thomas of Lubbock, Texas, and Dyral Thomas of Lockhart; and a host of nieces and nephews, and cousins.
A visitation was held on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Eeds Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. at the St. Mark”s United Methodist Church with Pastor Foster Roberts officiating. Interment followed in the Hooks Cemetery in Lockhart, Texas.
Serving as the pallbearers were: Charles Branch, Alex Hayes, Jabari Hayes, Frederick Dance, Trenton Thomas, Andre Schuler and Anthony Campbell. Honorary pallbearers were: Mrs. Pierce”s brothers, Carrol Thomas, John Thomas, Dyral Thomas; and Alex Hayes and Rathers Asberry.
