El Louise (Germer) Denmark passed away June 5, 2015 in Bastrop, Texas.  She was born on Dec. 7, 1922, in Maxwell, Texas to Gustav and Elsa Germer.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert “Smokey” Denmark; her brother, LaVern “Sonny” Germer; and sister, Gussie Lea Critchfield.
She is survived by her children: Dr. Kenneth Denmark, Terrell W. Denm

ark, Patricia A. Kelley, Marvin A. Denmark, Carol L. Johnson, and Phillis J. Denmark.  She leaves eleven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She worked at many places during her lifetime, such as Gary Air Force Base, Lockhart Post-Register, and later went on to help her husband develop “Smokey Denmark’s Sausage Company” of Austin, Texas.  After retirement, she and her husband moved to Highland Haven where she took up painting.  While she enjoyed doing many things, her painting was her passion and she felt it was a Gift from God.
She leaves behind a legacy of descendants, and of memories, and also her art.  She will be missed by many whose lives she has touched deeply.
A visitation was held from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., and from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015, at the Eeds Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, June 9 at Eeds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating. Burial followed at Memory Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Martindale.
